At SEMICON Europa 2025, Europe’s largest electronics platform, our experts will be presenting the innovative features of the BergKristall WaferCIS at the joint Tichawa Vision and ISDI booth C1643. Live demos, insights into customized solutions, and concrete application examples will give visitors a clear impression of the technical features of this innovation from Germany.
BergKristall WaferCIS – for demanding users
With the BergKristall sensor, Tichawa Vision presents a high-resolution wafer inspection solution with flexible lighting and synchronized front and back inspection. In addition, the BergKristall Wafer-CIS enables seamless inspection processes with RGB and IR lighting, high dynamics, fast imaging, and flexible scan width.
The BergKristall-CIS has numerous features that make it easy to use.
The WaferCIS is a scanning system that enables RGB imaging with a sampling rate of 6 kHz and a scanning speed of 64 mm/s. It delivers 12-bit amplitude resolution with up to 4000 grayscales per color, achieving a dynamic range of
Two functions are integrated to ensure consistent image quality:
- DSHR technology, which reduces banding effects
- 2 MB shading memory, which allows the shading table to be quickly adjusted
The depth of field of ±0.5 mm ensures that even slightly uneven surfaces can be captured.
Illumination and flexibility
The system supports various light sources:
- diffuse illumination
- coaxial illumination
- optional IR illumination (860/940 nm)
The scan width is flexible:
- 220 mm for 8-inch wafers (3 × 21,000 pixels RGB or 4 × 21,000 pixels RGB+IR)
- 330 mm for 12-inch wafers (3 × 31,000 pixels RGB or 4 × 31,000 pixels RGB+IR)
